Hello and thank you very much for visiting this web site. It is a home page to City Bakery, a home bakery start up.
Our journey started in 2014.
In the summer 2014 I started the City Bakery project as a little cake business on the side. I did few cakes, set up a web site and registered on social media. I had big plans, but as Christmas time was approaching fast, work in the understaffed kitchen was getting busier and busier. So I had to put my little project back on the book shelf and after I changed my job, I completely had no time for it and left it there to get covered with dust. Two years later, in the summer 2016, after changing my job for another time, I decided that it is THE time to re-open a new chapter in my life. As all roads we take in our lives, the road of City Bakery had a turn which took slightly different direction. This time I decided to make an accent on organic sourdough bread, as well as making cakes. The moto was: Keep it simple - keep it good! As one of my head chefs once told me - LESS IS MORE. So I really started to work hard on this project, while perfecting my breads and bakes.
As well as HUGE passion for baking, I have a great experience in the kitchen and culinary education. During my chef career I worked in different kitchens from small restaurants to a large hotel and in colleges of Cambridge University. Two achievements in my career that I am proud of - are running pastry section in one michelin star restaurant Alimentum in Cambridge, where my Head Chef Mark Poynton gave me passion for food and hunger for perfection in everything, and studying Patisserie and Confectionary in one of the best colleges in Europe - Westminster Kingsway College, London.
My ultimate goal is to open my own bakery/coffee shop filled with amazing smell from freshly baked breads, cakes, pastries and most importantly, packed with happy customers. Using seasonal, organic, fresh and as local as possible ingredients.
From that summer in 2016 I am trying to keep it simple - keep it good and use organic local ingredients while moving towards my goal.
